On campus, I teach a broad range of students about what the experience of music means to us in the short and long term. I also advise students on how to go about doing research on music. As a graduate student, I worked really hard to understand all the different ways a degree can translate professionally, so I can help with career planning. As someone who works in male-dominated fields, I can also empathize with what it means to feel singled out or left out in a place you want to feel comfortable in. I enjoy gardening, garden gnomes, weight-lifting, and sports. If you come for a visit to my campus office you will be greeted by my handmade guard gnomes and the large Monstera Tree I now have named Persephone.
