I am a public health professional with extensive experience in public health, specifically, infectious disease prevention, emergency preparedness, and community health leadership. Before joining the College of Public Health as full‑time faculty in 2023, I spent two decades in public health practice across Iowa, including leadership roles at Linn County Public Health—where she co-led the county’s COVID‑19 response—and Johnson County Public Health, where she oversaw operations and preparedness initiatives. I also served as a regional epidemiologist for the Iowa Department of Public Health. I also taught at the University of Northern Iowa and held statewide leadership roles, including President of the Iowa Public Health Association.

I am a dedicated undergraduate faculty member with 25 years of public health practice experience, committed to preparing students for successful post-graduation pathways. As an Assistant Professor of Instruction, I bring real-world insights into the classroom, fostering academic growth, professional readiness, and a deep understanding of public health principles. Passionate about mentoring and guiding students toward careers in public health, health policy, and community engagement. I have an open-door philosophy and welcome students to bring their questions and concerns to me.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and my fur babies. I find joy in flower gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and traveling. These passions bring balance to my professional life and inspire the creativity and connection I bring to my work with students.
