Research Support Manager, Epidemiology
Biography

I am a Research Support Manager in the Department of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health. My work focuses on helping faculty and research teams develop grant proposals, manage budgets, and navigate the administrative side of research. Prior to my time in the department, I worked in the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center as a Finance Manager. I hold a CPA and earned my undergraduate degrees and my MBA from the University.

I’m happy to support students with career exploration, navigating opportunities at the University of Iowa, and understanding pathways into fields like research administration, healthcare finance, and accounting. I can also help with professional development topics such as resume review, interviewing, networking, and transitioning from college to a professional career. As someone who advanced my career while working full-time and completing graduate education, I enjoy helping students think through long-term career strategy and practical next steps. I recognize that for many first-generation students, pursuing college means balancing the pull of home with the challenge of building your own path, and I’m committed to supporting students through that transition.

Outside of work, I’m an avid runner and have completed multiple half marathons and a full marathon. I enjoy Iowa athletics, baseball, personal finance, and using data and technology to solve problems. I live in the Cedar Rapids area with my wife and our young daughter, and I enjoy staying involved in the campus and local community.
