Biography

Hey everyone! I'm a proud first-gen college graduate from West Liberty, Iowa. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice from The University of Iowa in 2022. Throughout high school and undergrad, I took part in TRIO Upward Bound, TRIO SSS, and The Iowa Edge Program, which played a pivotal role in my educational journey. These programs were my guiding lights, and the mentorship I received made all the difference. Without them, graduating college wouldn't have been possible for me. Recognizing the value of mentorship, I became a mentor for TRIO Upward Bound, The Iowa Edge, and The Iowa First Nations Summer Program. Currently, I serve as the Program Coordinator for The Summer Health Professions Education Program at Iowa—a free enrichment program for college students interested in the health professions. It's designed to enhance academic and career development, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, setting them up for success in health professions school applications. As a mentor, my mission is to share insights, offer guidance, and foster a supportive community for first-gen students. I'm excited to connect with you all and be a part of your academic journey!
