Linda Varvel is the Administrative Director for the University of Iowa’s Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), a dual MD/PhD program, where she oversees all administrative aspects supporting physician-scientist trainees. She has worked at the University of Iowa since 2011 and holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Student Development.

Linda’s professional strengths include career planning, student support, and leadership development, with decades of experience helping students navigate both academic and personal growth. Her work is grounded in a holistic approach, ensuring students feel supported beyond the classroom and lab.

Outside of work, Linda enjoys reading and travel. She is also married and is a mom of two.
