Assistant Director of Academic Support, Engineering Student Success Team
Biography

I serve as the Assistant Director of Academic Support in the College of Engineering, where I am passionate about connecting students with resources that help them succeed academically, personally, and professionally. I enjoy helping students navigate challenges, discover study spaces, and connect with opportunities for engagement, while also being a listening ear as they find their path. As a first-generation college student, I know firsthand how intimidating it can feel to enter higher education without a roadmap. I was fortunate to find staff who supported me through the unknowns and unexpected moments of college, and their encouragement shaped the way I support students today. That experience drives me to make sure others have the same chance to feel seen, supported, and equipped to thrive. I also understand the difficulty of finding a sense of belonging, and I truly believe that there is a place for everyone on campus. I love encouraging students to explore, connect, and build their own community. Outside of my role, I enjoy stories of all kinds—whether through TV, movies, or books—and I’m always happy to swap recommendations. I also love trying new foods around Iowa City and can usually suggest a place to check out if you’re looking for your next meal adventure.
