Professor Jennifer Fiegel became a chemical engineer because she enjoyed science and math, but also wanted to be able to support herself by making a good salary. As a first generation student , she paid her way through college using federal loans, summer jobs, and a job every semester. She is thankful for the many mentors who helped pave the way for her to stay in academia and become a professor where she can have an impact on the next generation of students.
