I received my graduate degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of Iowa. Before joining TRIO SSS, I taught art in the public education system at both the elementary and secondary levels. Previously, I worked in higher education as an Area Coordinator and Interim Director of Housing at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselear, Indiana. Drawing from my teaching experience, I also teach with the College of Education's Art Education department. My primary research interests focus on learning and teaching through punk ethics and philosophy, the role of place in development of identity, and arts-based research. I enjoy reading, painting, board and video games, Hawkeye football, and spending time with my family.
