Through his leadership at MISSE, Diego continues his lifelong mission of promoting student success by building strong, supportive communities where every student has the opportunity to excel.

"Supporting first-generation students is deeply personal to me because I understand firsthand the unique challenges they face, having been one myself. Navigating college without the benefit of family experience can be daunting, and it's easy to feel out of place or unsure of where to turn for help. I believe that with the right support, guidance, and community, first-gen students can not only succeed but thrive. For me, it's about paying forward the mentorship and resources that helped me succeed, while ensuring that students today feel empowered to achieve their goals and make their own path."
