I grew up on a farm in Iowa, and I am the first in my family to graduate from college. I received my B.S. in Psychology from Iowa State University and my M.A. in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa. In my job at the University of Iowa, I support programs and services that promote student success. Assisting first-generation college students is important to me because I could have used a mentor during my time as an undergraduate student. I want to be a mentor to help other first-generation college students thrive and succeed at the University of Iowa.
