After getting my Ph.D. at Northwestern University, I joined the University of Iowa in 2003. I am currently a full professor of Mechanical Engineering and my research focuses on AI and its applications to problem-solving in multiple disciplines. I devote my efforts to teaching, research, and professional service, and have a passion for supporting underrepresented minority students, including first-gen students.
