Jodi Linley

Associate Professor, Higher Education & Student Affairs
Biography

This is my 12th year as a faculty member in the College of Education. My research is about queer and trans college student thriving, and about the ways minoritized student leaders navigate their work experiences. I spent several years as a staff member in higher education before becoming a professor -- I worked with Iowa Edge, the Iowa Sciences Academy, and Orientation. In addition to teaching grad students, I teach a first-year seminar about perspective-taking. I love helping students find their purpose and identify strategies to achieve their goals. I grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and understand the transition to college from a small school experience. I love to read (memoirs, novels, poetry), hike at all the nearby parks, and play board games with my kids.
