I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education department. Before becoming a faculty member, I was an elementary teacher and high school counselor. I am also a 1st generation college student and never dreamed I would have graduate degrees. Supporting 1st gen students is important to me because navigating an unfamiliar world is challenging and sometimes lonely. It's good to have people around you who will encourage you to persevere and to help you enjoy the journey.
