I am the Assistant Director of the Scientific Editing and Research Communication Core (SERCC) and a Grant Writer for the Large-Scale Proposal Development Service (LSPDS), a joint initiative of the SERCC and the Carver College of Medicine Research Administration Support Office (CCOM RAS). In my role, I help research teams develop large-complex grant proposals and assist researchers in effectively communicating their science in a way that is accessible to a diverse array of audiences: experts in the field, scientists who work in other areas, and the general public. This allows me to combine my love of science with my passion for clear writing and helping others. I also run the SERCC internship program, which provides me with the opportunity to mentor other scientists who may be interested in a career in scientific editing. In my free time my husband and I enjoy taking our two sons on new outdoor adventures in the mountains, at the beach, and anywhere in between.
