During my PhD, while working as a teaching assistant, I interacted with many first-generation students. Being an international student in the US, I found that the struggles of first-generation students resonated with me in a certain sense, motivating me to collaborate with them. Now, as an assistant professor in the Computer Science department, I feel even better positioned to support first-generation students and look forward to interactions where I can be of help.
