Being a first-generation college students may feel at times a bit isolating. When I started college as an immigrant from Mexico, I only knew I wanted to go to college, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I was fortunate to meet people on campus who guided me along the way. I'm a 1st Gen@Iowa mentor because I like to help students from different backgrounds who may be looking for guidance or support on how to navigate college life.
