Biography

I am not a first generation student. Both my parents and all my older (and younger) siblings graduated from college. I had lots of family to help me navigate the ins and outs for preparing for and succeeding in college. I had a brother who guided me through applying for and succeeding in graduate school. And it was still all these things were hard. When I imagine how much harder it would have been without the guidance of family members who had already gone through the process, I can't help but want to give the guidance to students who may not have family members who can guide them through. I wish that navigating the system was simple enough that insider knowledge wasn't necessary, but until that time comes I can do what I can to help students succeed.
