Andy O'Neill

Assistant Director, Office of Student Learning
Biography
I serve as an Assistant Director in the Office of Student Learning at the University of Iowa. In my role, I work with the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program and Peer Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) course and oversee our Academic Success Workshops while also supporting our other programs. Most of my work involves supervision, facilitation, and planning trainings and curriculum. I also am a College Transition Seminar instructor. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in informatics (human-computer interaction) and psychology and from Penn State University with an M.Ed. in higher education.

I work with a lot of students directly and help them grow personally, academically, and professionally. Whether it’s brainstorming career ideas, learning about academic resources and how to use them, building effective study habits, or learning how to best use your strengths, I can be someone who can help support you in your holistic growth!

I like to balance staying active and relaxing in my free time. I love to play different sports (softball, golf, basketball, soccer) and also lounge and play video games or watch TV. I feel like I can talk about anything, so I’d love to hear about what you’re passionate about too.
