I grew up on a farm in a small town on southeast Iowa. I joined the military in high school to pay for college when I realized I would struggle pay for it otherwise. I wish to support first year students as much as I can as my father did not attend college and my mother attended a school that closed down. I know the feeling of not having support and not knowing where to go. I want to be someone that students can turn to when they feel this way.
