Angelica Hernandez
Angelica Hernandez is a Success Coach with TRIO Student Support Services at the University of Iowa, where she supports first-generation, income-eligible, and students with disabilities in achieving their academic and personal goals. A proud two-time Hawkeye, Angelica earned her M.A. in Educational Policy & Leadership Studies (Higher Education & Student Affairs) and her B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. Her professional background includes academic advising, student development, and leadership programming across multiple campus departments. She has worked closely with student-athletes, language ambassadors, and first-generation students, providing personalized coaching, mentoring, and workshop facilitation. Angelica is passionate about empowering students through data-informed support and culturally responsive advising. Areas of expertise include: Academic coaching and time management Leadership development and peer mentorship First-generation student advocacy Outside of her professional role, Angelica enjoys spending time with family, exploring local coffee shops, and traveling.
