Hello! I am an academic advisor at the University of Iowa, where I primarily work with students in the social sciences, humanities, pre-business, pre-professional health sciences, and open majors. I can help you discuss majors and careers, navigate the university, study skills, identify resources, and a wide range of other topics. In college, I studied sports business, but realized I loved working with college students and then shifted my academic and professional focus. I moved to Iowa in 2019 to work at another college, and have been part of the Hawkeye community since May 2022. While I was not a first-generation student myself, much of my professional career has focused on supporting first generation college students during my time with AmeriCorps and TRIO. I want to help you achieve your goals and find your place at UI!

I'm originally from a small town outside of Columbus, OH, and went 9 hours away to attend college before returning to my home state for graduate school. If any of that resonates for you, I'm happy to talk about my experiences, in case you're feeling similar things being far away from home.
