I am a proud first-generation college student! In fact, I am the only person in my extended family to graduate from college. My parents dropped my off at the University of Alabama and wished me well---that was about all the guidance they were able to provide. I had to learn how to navigate the system, find on-site mentors at the University to thrive in the college environment. But I did it and even went back and got my MBA years later.
