I am the first person in my immediate family to earn a college degree, overcoming financial challenges to achieve a four-year degree and an MBA. My journey began at Indian Hills Community College, followed by a transfer to the University of Iowa's College of Business. My career has spanned roles in human resources, operations management, marketing, product development, and teaching at various institutions. Currently, I work for the Tippie College of Business in Graduate and Professional Programs. I encourage my two sons to pursue higher education, with one studying chemistry at the University of Arizona and the other in nursing at Luther College. Having worked in and with large corporate enterprises, small creative agencies, and in multiple functional areas I can help bring clarity to, “What does someone in human resources/marketing/operations/finance, etc. do, and what is it like to work in different types of industries?” I enjoy meeting with students, being a good listener and offering strategies for developing and communicating relevant experiences to help land an internship or offers of full-time employment. As a first-generation college graduate, I am passionate about mentoring and supporting other first-generation students to navigate their educational paths and achieve their goals.
