Angela Charsha-Harney

Associate Director of Fitness, Recreational Services
Biography

It is my honor to support first-gen students, as I know first-hand how confusing and difficult it can be to be the first person in your family to embark on the college experience. I am grateful to have had positive friendships in high school to help keep me informed of the college application process or I'm not certain I would be in the position I am in today. I am an alumnus of Monmouth College where I studied international business and sports management. I continued my educational journey at Michigan State University where I obtained a Master of Arts degree in Student Affairs Administration and a second Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to marry my two Master's degrees where I serve as the Associate Director of Fitness here at The University of Iowa.  I have been working at The University of Iowa for over 20 years and I absolutely love working on the Recreational Services team. It is important to me to be active on and off-campus and I am involved in numerous non-profit organizations.  My greatest blessing is being a wife and a loving mother of two children, Gabe and Sidney.
