Biography

It is my honor to support first-gen students, as I know first hand how confusing and difficult it can be to be the first person in your family to embark on the college experience. I am grateful to have had positive friendships in high school to help keep me informed of the college application process or I'm not certain I would be in the position I am in today. I am an alumni of Monmouth College where I studied international business and sports management. I continued my educational journey at Michigan State University where I obtained a Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration and a second Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to marry my two Master's degrees where I lead the personal training team here at Iowa, serving as a mentor for students and in the field of exercise science. I have been working at The University of Iowa for 20 years. I love being active on and off-campus, am involved in numerous non-profit organizations, and am a wife and a loving mother of two children, Gabe and Sidney.
