As a first-generation college student, I came to the University of Iowa looking to make a difference in this world but had no idea where to start or how to navigate the world of higher education. I serve as a 1stGen@Iowa Mentor to be a helping hand to those who need it, to answer those tough, tricky questions, to hear you out when you're feeling frustrated, and to lift you up and help you be the best you can be.
