I was a first-gen college student and luckily had really great counselors and mentors who guided me throughout my time at community college and once I transferred. After graduating college, I felt behind in my career; in hindsight, I see so many missed opportunities if only I had utilized the resources on campus more, like the career center. That is what brought me to my current role at the Pomerantz Career Center. In my role as a career coach and first-gen mentor, my goal is to educate and provide students with the tools they need to become self-advocating first-gen professionals. I have learned so much throughout my career and can't wait to share that knowledge and be a part of your journey to success, whatever that looks like for you :)
