I grew up in the west and moved east for school, where I nearly failed out twice. You wouldn't think that makes someone want to become a teacher, but it's been vital for me—it means I know where people are coming from when they struggle. I write for work, but in my free time I play games (lifelong Pokémon fan) and take hikes to see birds (this photo was taken in East Harbor State Park in Ohio—I found some egrets!) I teach classes on all kinds of communication and specialize in working with people new to the Iowa campus and college life in general. Hit me up!
