I greatly value supporting first-generation college students. I am a first-generation college student. I remember how overwhelming it was to go from being in a small town close knit community to coming to a completely different environment without much support. I recognize how complex and challenging it can be to attend college for the first time, not feel familiar with campus living and campus life, and to be unsure about what questions to even ask. I deeply valued my time here at the University and I love calling Iowa City my home. I have found my place in higher education and I am honored to be in a position where I can support students in any phase of their journey.
