Anna Jensen

Director, Office of Field Experience for Sports and Recreation Management
Biography

Anna Jensen joined the University of Iowa faculty in 2015 as the first Director of the Office of Field Experience within the Sport and Recreation Management (SRM) program. In this role, she designed and continues to implement a system of experiential learning that assists the more than 550 undergraduate SRM majors and 50-plus graduate students “figure out the roles they want sport to play in their lives.” Anna continues to be involved professionally in mega-event production. She has led student teams to work Super Bowls in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Las Vegas – as well as the Major League Baseball Field of Dreams games in Dyersville, IA. Jensen has also consulted with a key NFL contractor on auxiliary operations at the NFL Entry Drafts in Kansas City and Detroit. On campus, you can find Anna engaging across campus in many ways. She is actively engaged in faculty learning communities including implementation of the 3M Learning Model across disciplines, the Community Engaged Network, Transparency in Learning and Teaching curriculum design, the Transfer and Student Success Teams, and On Iowa! new student orientation. Anna serves on the faculty liaison team to the SRM Living Learning Community and is a co-leader in the provost’s book club. She is one of a dozen instructors in the First-Generation Hawks program. In 2024, Anna begins her service as the University of Iowa Evans Scholars on-campus advisor.
