As a first-gen student myself, I think this is a valuable program (and something I wish would have been available to me). I never intended to have a career in academia - I worked in public relations for 10 years before getting my PhD. I hope I can help firs-gen students navigate the world of academia, and I also hope to help them set themselves up for success upon graduation.
